Electric11 installed a 16-panel solar PV array, 11.52 kWh Fox ESS battery and Zappi EV charger at a bungalow in Wymondham. A 10 kW Fox ESS hybrid inverter coordinates solar generation, stored energy, household consumption and vehicle charging within one integrated system. Dedicated protection, surge protection, testing and electrical certification completed the installation.
Project Overview
The homeowner wanted one coordinated system that could generate renewable electricity, store surplus power and support convenient EV charging. Electric11 designed and installed a 16-panel solar array with Fox ESS battery storage and a Zappi charger, creating a practical route to lower grid dependence.
This project shows how a carefully planned solar panel installation in Wymondham can connect generation, storage and transport within a single home-energy setup.
The customer’s goal
The brief was to make better use of the bungalow’s roof space while preparing the home for growing electricity demand. The system needed to support daytime household loads, retain surplus solar energy for later use and provide a dedicated charging point for an electric vehicle.
Battery storage was an important part of the design. It allows more of the electricity generated during daylight hours to be used in the evening instead of being exported immediately. Electric11 offers further guidance on home battery storage in Norfolk and how capacity can be matched to household demand.
Site assessment and system design
The single-storey roof provided room for 16 low-profile solar panels. Electric11 assessed the available roof area, cable routes, existing electrical equipment and suitable positions for the inverter, battery and charger before work began.
The Fox ESS KH10 hybrid inverter and EP12 Plus battery were mounted externally on the bungalow wall, keeping the equipment together and accessible for inspection. The Zappi charger was positioned alongside the energy system for convenient vehicle access. Customers comparing options can review Electric11’s guide to EV chargers for the home.
What Electric11 installed
16-panel solar PV array
The team fitted 16 black solar panels across the tiled roof using a secure rail-and-clamp mounting system. The finished layout is neat, balanced and designed to make productive use of the available roof space.
Fox ESS hybrid inverter and battery
A Fox ESS KH10 10 kW hybrid inverter manages energy from the solar array, household demand and battery. The paired Fox ESS EP12 Plus provides 11.52 kWh of nominal storage capacity and includes a 10-year warranty.
The battery can retain surplus daytime generation for evening use, helping the household increase solar self-consumption and reduce electricity bought from the grid. Similar completed work can be seen in Electric11’s Wymondham battery storage upgrade.
