Electric11 expanded an existing domestic energy-storage system in Wymondham by installing three Pylontech US5000C batteries. The upgrade added 14.4 kWh of storage and increased the property’s total battery capacity from 42 kWh to 56.4 kWh.

The additional batteries were integrated into an existing grid-connected, three-phase system powered by three Victron Quattro 48/8000/110 inverter-chargers.

Project Overview

  • Location: Wymondham, Norfolk
  • Property type: Domestic
  • System type: Grid-connected three-phase energy-storage system
  • Existing batteries: 12 Pylontech US3000C units
  • New batteries: 3 Pylontech US5000C units
  • Additional storage: 14.4 kWh
  • Total storage after upgrade: 56.4 kWh
  • Increase in capacity: 34.3%
  • Inverter setup: 3 Victron Quattro 48/8000/110 inverter-chargers
  • Combined inverter capacity: Approximately 24 kVA

The Existing Home Energy System

The property already had a substantial three-phase battery-storage system consisting of 12 Pylontech US3000C batteries. Together, these provided 42 kWh of storage capacity.

Three Victron Quattro 48/8000/110 inverter-chargers managed the system, providing approximately 24 kVA of combined inverter capacity across the three-phase installation.

Rather than replacing the existing equipment, the project focused on expanding the available storage while retaining the established Victron and Pylontech setup.

Adding 14.4 kWh of Pylontech Battery Storage

Electric11 supplied and fitted three Pylontech US5000C batteries, each providing 4.8 kWh of nominal storage capacity. Together, the new units added 14.4 kWh to the system.

The battery count increased from 12 to 15 units, while total storage rose from 42 kWh to 56.4 kWh. This represented a 34.3% increase in available battery capacity.

The expanded system gives the property more capacity to store electricity for later use while continuing to operate through the existing three-phase Victron inverter arrangement.

Integrating the Batteries With the Existing Victron System

The new Pylontech batteries were incorporated into the property’s existing grid-connected energy-storage system. Retaining the three Victron Quattro inverter-chargers allowed the customer to expand storage without replacing the core inverter equipment.

This type of upgrade requires the existing batteries, inverter configuration, communication setup, and available installation space to be assessed before additional units are fitted. Battery compatibility and system limits must also be confirmed as part of the project planning.

Battery Capacity After the Upgrade

Following the installation, the system provided:

  • 56.4 kWh of total battery storage
  • 14.4 kWh of newly added capacity
  • 34.3% more storage than the original system
  • 15 Pylontech batteries in total
  • Approximately 24 kVA of inverter capacity

The completed upgrade increased the amount of energy the property could retain without requiring a complete replacement of the existing storage system.

Considering a Battery Upgrade in Wymondham?

Existing battery-storage systems can sometimes be expanded when the installed inverter, battery models, system configuration, and available space support additional capacity.

Electric11 can assess your current equipment and recommend whether expansion, replacement, or a different configuration would be appropriate. Learn more about our home battery storage services in Wymondham or contact our team to arrange an assessment.
